Emily grew up in Independence, MO. She graduated with her bachelor of science in nursing in 2012 from Graceland University and worked for 7 years as a labor and delivery nurse for Centerpoint Medical Center. In 2021 she graduated from the University of Kansas School of Nursing with her Doctorate In Nursing practice and is a certified nurse midwife. She is also an international board certified lactation consultant. She is an active member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
Emily’s biggest joy is her family. She is married with 3 children and enjoys spending time outdoors biking, hiking and running.
Dr. Southern is a Missouri native and grew up south of St. Louis. He received his bachelor of science in biology from the University of Alabama and obtained his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in OB/Gyn at Prisma Health Upstate in Greenville, SC and is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Southern is fluent in Spanish and enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, woodworking, running and playing golf.
Dr. Sundling joined Independence Women’s Clinic in November of 2019. She grew up in North Dakota and received her bachelor of science from North Dakota State University. She went on to receive her doctor of osteopathic medicine from Des Moines University of Osteopathic and Podiatric Medicine. She completed her residency at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, NJ.
Dr. Sundling is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOBOG).
Dr. Sundling is married and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two dogs.
Dr. Pung joined Independence Women's Clinic in 2018. She grew up in Wichita, KS and is married with two small children.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology and Psychology at the University of Kansas graduating with University Honors, a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Missouri Kansas City and is Board Certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Pung is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Kansas City Gynecological Society and a fellow of the Youngblood Society. Dr. Pung feels that Obstetrics and Gynecology is an exciting and rewarding specialty that allows her the ability to empower and educate women regarding their health care.
