Debra Sims is a Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Health and joined Independence Women’s Clinic in 1999. She grew up in Raytown, MO. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1984 from Rockhurst/Research College of Nursing and obtained her Master’s of Science in Nursing in 1998 from the University of Missouri Kansas City.

Debra is certified by the National Certification Corporation (NCC) as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Debra has an interest in STD screening, prevention and education. She has experience in various areas of women’s health and has clinical expertise in birth control measures, menopause and pelvic floor problems. She has been a clinical instructor teaching the topic of pelvic floor problems to nursing students in the Kansas City area.

Debra is married and has two grown children. She enjoys spending time with family, outdoor activities, quilting and cheering on her favorite football and hockey teams. Nursing education and care of adults are some of her passions in life.
